Business Timeline

• 2010: Air Play Espresso and Bakery opens its doors at 115 E 3rd St.
• 2012: Introduced our famous fresh-baked scones.
• 2015: Voted #1 favorite Place for Coffee in the Sauk Valley area.
• 2018: Expanded our menu to include over 30 fresh, loose-leaf teas.
• 2020: Opened our second location, Air Play Xpress, at 202 4th Ave.
• 2022: Celebrated serving over 200,000 scones.
• 2026: Air Play Xpress closes after six years of serving the drive-thru crowd.

Air Play Xpress (2020–2026)

Air Play Xpress opened in 2020 as our drive-thru location at 202 4th Ave in Sterling, IL. For six years it brought the Air Play experience to customers on the go — same great coffee, same friendly faces, just faster. In early 2026 we made the difficult decision to close the Xpress location. We're grateful for every customer who swung through that alley and for the team that made it run.

All of your favorites — espresso drinks, lotus energy drinks, fresh-baked goods — are still available at our original downtown location at 115 E 3rd St, open 7AM–4PM Mon–Sat and 8AM–1PM Sundays.
